Tower Construction Technician - Santa Rosa, CA (Telecommunications)

Location: Fully onsite in one of the following U.S. locations: Santa Rosa, CA; Spokane, WA; Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; or Oklahoma City, OK. No travel required.

Salary: $30.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform excavation, trenching, concrete forming, foundation work, conduit installation, and backfilling.
• Assemble, erect, upgrade, decommission, and remove communication towers and related structural equipment.
• Install and terminate RF cabling, coaxial lines, fiber optics, hybrid cables, grounding systems, electrical wiring, surge protection, and bonding.
• Operate light and medium construction equipment, including compact track loaders, mini-excavators, skid steers, and telehandlers.
• Read engineering drawings, site plans, and RF data sheets while coordinating with FAA personnel, subcontractors, and project managers.
• Document work progress, maintain equipment and materials inventories, and follow safety, environmental, quality, OSHA, and FAA requirements.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for government contract work.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in tower construction, civil infrastructure, or telecommunications installation.
• Experience with tower assembly, RF cabling, grounding, electrical systems, and civil construction practices.
• Ability to operate construction equipment, climb towers, work at height, lift up to 75 lbs, and work outdoors in extreme weather.
• Valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance and pass associated background investigations.

Nice to have

• CDL, tower climbing, OSHA 30-Hour Construction, First Aid/CPR, rigging, or signal person certification.
• Experience with FAA Technical Operations, NAS infrastructure, government tower-upgrade contracts, or sustainable construction.
• Familiarity with HAZWOPER, NEPA compliance, wildlife impact assessments, 5G integration, and specialized testing or hoisting equipment.
