Tower Construction Technician (Telecommunications)

Location: Fully onsite in Santa Rosa, CA; Spokane, WA; Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; or Oklahoma City, OK. No travel required.

Salary: $30.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Perform excavation, trenching, foundation pouring, conduit installation, concrete forming, backfilling, and site cleanup.
• Operate compact track loaders, mini-excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and other authorized construction equipment.
• Assemble, erect, upgrade, decommission, and remove communication towers and related structural equipment.
• Install and terminate RF cabling, coaxial lines, fiber optics, and hybrid cables with appropriate routing and weatherproofing.
• Install grounding systems, electrical wiring, surge protection, and bonding according to NEC and FAA standards.
• Coordinate with FAA personnel, subcontractors, and project managers while documenting progress, maintaining inventory, and resolving site issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for government contract work.
• 3–5 years of experience in tower construction, civil infrastructure, or telecommunications installation.
• Experience with tower assembly, RF cabling, grounding, and electrical systems in aviation or telecommunications environments.
• Knowledge of trenching, conduit work, concrete forming, blueprints, engineering drawings, site plans, and RF data sheets.
• Valid driver’s license, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
• Ability to work onsite, climb towers, lift up to 75 lbs, operate equipment, and work outdoors in extreme weather and hazardous jobsite conditions.

Nice to have

• CDL, tower climbing certification, OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, or First Aid/CPR certification.
• Rigging/Signal Person certification and familiarity with FAA Technical Operations and NAS infrastructure.
• Experience with government tower-upgrade contracts, cable testers, spectrum analyzers, torque wrenches, or hoisting equipment.
• Knowledge of NEPA compliance, wildlife impact assessments, HAZWOPER, sustainable construction, or 5G integration.
