Registered Nurse Instructor (Nursing Education)

Location: Campus-based in Concord, California, USA; clinical rotations take place off site at hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Salary: $104,000–$115,000 per year, plus a 10% differential for evening and weekend clinical shifts.

What you will do

• Teach vocational nursing courses through classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
• Mentor students and support their learning in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Improve instructional quality by applying innovative teaching methodologies and online learning activities.
• Review and revise course syllabi and instructional guidelines.
• Maintain attendance, grades, skills check-offs, clinical documentation, and student files.
• Submit program reports, participate in assigned committees, and contribute to professional development.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the state where teaching takes place.
• Either three years of bedside experience with a bachelor's degree or six years of experience with an associate degree.
• Ability to meet faculty requirements established by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• Current nursing practice knowledge and clinical experience, with the ability to work independently and mentor students.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification.
• Availability for day, evening, weekday, and weekend clinical rotations as required.
