TL;DR
Development Manager, Events & Operations (Events and Advancement Operations): Planning and executing development events, donor stewardship activities, appeals, annual reports, and Advancement operations across New Jersey and Miami with an accent on project planning, vendor coordination, budgets, and donor database accuracy. Focus on managing overlapping event production plans, coordinating venues and stakeholders, processing gifts in Raiser’s Edge, and improving outcomes in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments.

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work 2 days per week and remote work 3 days per week; candidates must live within commuting distance of Newark, Camden, or Miami, USA.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year

KIPP TEAM & Family is a nonprofit network office supporting KIPP public schools, students, and advancement operations across New Jersey and Miami.

What you will do

  • Plan and execute development events ranging from ribbon cuttings and board meetings to a 300-person annual gala.
  • Create and manage overlapping event production and project plans, including responsibilities, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate venues, contracts, budgets, staffing, menus, transportation, signage, décor, programming, and photography.
  • Support donor stewardship, recognition activities, centralized appeals, and annual report projects.
  • Complete gift entry, acknowledgements, collections, reconciliations, expense tracking, and donor database initiatives.
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, retreats, cross-team projects, and frontline fundraising activities.

Requirements

  • Experience with project management, event and program planning, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate vendors, partners, peers, and external stakeholders while maintaining accountability.
  • Experience with budgets, expense tracking, financial reporting, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across a wide range of audiences.
  • Proficiency with productivity and database software.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement while living within commuting distance of Newark, Camden, or Miami.
