Location: Hybrid work environment based in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, USA; domestic and international travel of 10–20% required.

What you will do
- Apply mathematical modeling and numerical simulation to optimize product design, polymer processing, and synergistic material performance.
- Develop and deploy computational design and analysis methods for evolving material and product requirements.
- Collaborate with product development scientists, pilot facilities, operations, contract manufacturers, and equipment vendors to accelerate R&D and commercialization.
- Provide technical input for business cases, senior-management presentations, and feasibility assessments.
- Support process technology development, including fluid-flow design, equipment specification, and reactor design.
- Collaborate with intellectual property counsel on right-to-market assessments, patent applications, and office actions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience applying numerical simulations, mathematical modeling, and experimentation to product and process development.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, polymer science, physics, chemistry, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Understanding of fluid flow, pressure, temperature, mixing behavior, and chemical or molecular reaction environments in vessels and related equipment.
- Strong project management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects and communicate across organizational levels.
- Experience with laboratory safety, Process Safety Management, and chemical hazards.
- Ability to work in the Mill Hall, Pennsylvania hybrid environment and travel domestically and internationally 10–20% of the time.
