Operating Model Consultant - Transport

Location: London, UK; hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office or on a client site, and up to 5 days per week on a client site depending on the assignment.

What you will do

• Design strategies, operating structures, and solutions for transport-sector clients.
• Support major capital and infrastructure programmes, asset management, and operational performance initiatives.
• Deliver work spanning strategic design, business analysis, organisational design, and programme definition.
• Apply design-thinking, data-driven, and human-centred approaches to complex client challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists and engage with client organisations.
• Present recommendations and insights to stakeholders from operational teams through to C-suite level.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in business strategy, organisational design, customer or user value analysis, technology-enabled transformation, data-driven problem solving, or the transport sector.
• Strong analytical, creative, written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently as the day-to-day client point of contact.
• UK residency or citizenship may be required for security clearance; some roles require at least 5 years of continuous UK residency.
• Background checks and Baseline Personnel Security Standard clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with large capital or infrastructure programmes and asset management organisations.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as CAA and ORR.
• Awareness of decarbonisation and smart mobility trends.
• Familiarity with business and technology architecture, enterprise operating models, and governance frameworks.
• Experience defining customer-centric, IT, procurement, commercial, or capital-programme operating models.
