Vice President, Transmission & Grid Strategy (Clean Energy)

What you will do

• Develop and execute long-term transmission and grid strategy for renewable energy, storage, and data center development.
• Lead interconnection activities across PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO, and WECC markets.
• Direct transmission analytics covering congestion, locational marginal pricing, curtailment, deliverability, upgrade costs, reliability, and project economics.
• Guide site selection, points of interconnection, substations, transmission routing, collection systems, and large-load power delivery solutions.
• Build executive-level relationships and lead negotiations with utilities, transmission owners, ISOs/RTOs, regulators, and industry organizations.
• Build and lead a team of transmission professionals, analysts, consultants, and engineering resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 15 years of experience in transmission planning, interconnection, utility engineering, renewable energy development, power systems, or related energy infrastructure.
• Leadership experience managing transmission, interconnection, grid planning, or power systems teams.
• Deep knowledge of transmission planning, generator interconnection, wholesale power markets, utility operations, power system modeling, congestion management, and grid reliability.
• Experience working with one or more major ISOs/RTOs and negotiating with utilities, transmission owners, system operators, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Ability to lead complex technical, commercial, and regulatory initiatives in a development environment.

Nice to have

• MBA, master’s degree, or advanced technical degree.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, large-load, or data center projects.
• Experience with FERC proceedings, transmission policy, industry working groups, and multi-gigawatt portfolios.
