Operations Training & Design Lead (Retail)

What you will do

• Develop and own the operations training strategy and framework across the retail network.
• Establish role-based learning pathways, capability requirements and training standards aligned with operational priorities.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design expertise across e-learning, face-to-face and blended learning.
• Manage an external content development partner, ensuring quality, consistency and delivery against agreed briefs.
• Lead and develop the Operations Training team, setting priorities, accountabilities and performance expectations.
• Partner with Operations, Compliance & Standards and field leaders to identify capability gaps and support a store manager-led training model.

Requirements

• Significant experience in learning and development, capability, instructional design or operational training.
• Strong practical knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
• Experience developing training strategies and frameworks in a multi-site environment.
• Experience managing external training or content development providers.
• Proven experience leading a team and delivering outcomes through others.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into simple, practical and engaging learning.

Nice to have

• Experience in fuel, convenience, quick service restaurants or high-volume retail.
