Instructional Designer II (Digital Education)

What you will do

• Assist faculty with developing online courses using available learning technologies.
• Support course redesign and the pedagogic transformation of digital education.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement software, hardware, mobile, and cloud technologies that support institutional goals.
• Collaborate with the LMS administrator to improve digital education processes.
• Deliver faculty, staff, and student training and develop guides and informational resources.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Canvas and other teaching and learning technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of related instructional design experience.
• Knowledge of online course design principles, learning management systems, instructional technologies, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
• Effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
• Problem-solving, digital literacy, AI literacy, self-directed learning, and project management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in instructional or educational technology or a related field.
• Experience with universal design for learning, WCAG 2.1 AA, instructional design models, and adult learning principles.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Canvas or a similar LMS, open educational resources, OSCQR or QM rubrics, multimedia design, and course-authoring tools such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Captivate, or Storyline.
