Senior Systems Quality Engineer

Location: South Jordan, Utah, USA; in-office four days per week with Fridays flexible. Relocation assistance is available.

What you will do

• Develop and execute environmental, reliability, durability, and system-level validation test plans for new products.
• Test and troubleshoot electromechanical systems across hardware, electrical components, firmware, software, connectivity, calibration, and manufacturing processes.
• Analyze test results, field issues, manufacturing data, and performance trends to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Lead or support root-cause analysis, 8D investigations, CAPA actions, product risk reviews, and corrective improvements.
• Support product readiness reviews from early validation through mass production and sustaining phases.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, supplier quality, customer support, and ODM/JDM manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in product quality, hardware test, reliability, validation, systems test, embedded systems, or manufacturing quality.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting electromechanical products across hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing processes, and customer use cases.
• Experience creating test plans, executing tests, analyzing results, and documenting findings.
• Knowledge of quality and reliability tools including 8D, CAPA, DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, DOE, gage R&R, and Cp/Cpk.
• Ability to work on-site in South Jordan, Utah, Monday through Friday, with four required office days and flexible Fridays.

Nice to have

• Experience with connected consumer products, embedded systems, smart devices, robotics, automation equipment, or similar electromechanical products.
• Experience with USB, BLE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, serial communication, firmware-controlled hardware, and app-to-device workflows.
• Python or other scripting experience for test automation, data collection, or analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing validation, supplier quality, production-line testing, ODM/JDM models, or global contract manufacturing partners.
• Knowledge of UL, ASTM, ISO, IEC, ASQ, Six Sigma, reliability engineering, or structured phase-gate processes.
