Software Test Engineer (Automation)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; telecommuting is available up to 3 days per week.

Salary: $121,389–$158,480 per year.

What you will do

• Test new and existing software products across regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance scenarios.
• Design and execute automated test cases from business requirements.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Investigate complex application and technical issues and support debugging.
• Coordinate with product owners, end users, and internal customers on issues, enhancements, upgrades, and acceptance testing.
• Perform end-to-end system integration testing and ensure accurate, interoperable, and complete software results.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of software testing experience; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent plus 7 years of experience.
• Experience designing and developing test automation frameworks.
• Functional or object-oriented coding experience in C++, Java, or Python, preferably Java.
• Experience with testing REST APIs using Karate, performance testing with JMeter, and full-stack and integration testing.
• Experience with AWS Cloud, SQL or relational databases, CI/CD test automation, TDD, code reviews, and DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Git.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apigee or other API gateways.
• Experience with Java/JUnit, Python, Cucumber, JBehave, or other BDD testing frameworks.
