Senior Test Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Chanhassen, Minnesota, United States; onsite work supporting active manufacturing areas

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year

Manufactures electromechanical linear roller screw actuators, rotary servo motors, and integrated control solutions for industrial applications.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement cost-effective test methods, diagnostic software, custom fixtures, and test specifications for complex systems, components, and equipment.
• Develop test plans and lead functional, performance, regulatory, product, and manufacturing-process testing.
• Reverse-engineer, repair, modify, and modernize legacy test equipment with limited documentation.
• Assemble test equipment hands-on, including soldering, wiring, harnessing, ITA integration, and DAQ hardware selection.
• Create structured test procedures, proprietary and Python-based scripts, operator instructions, automated reports, and traceable test data.
• Analyze test data, investigate root causes, resolve production test disruptions, manage vendors and resources, mentor junior engineers, and support continuous improvement and DFT reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6–10+ years of progressive experience in test engineering or system validation.
• Experience designing and executing test strategies for complex electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical systems.
• Certified LabVIEW Developer or Certified LabVIEW Architect certification, or equivalent practical LabVIEW experience.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment hardware, harnessing, soldering, ITAs, schematic creation, DAQ selection, root cause analysis, statistical testing, and process validation.
• Experience supporting production and engineering testing in busy manufacturing environments and documenting results to internal and regulatory standards.

Nice to have

• C or C# programming experience.
• Database management experience.
• Background in manufacturing automation, controls engineering, or test development.
• Vendor management and technical coordination experience.
• Familiarity with embedded controls, DFT-oriented design reviews, and actuation testing for linear and rotary motion systems.
