Software Quality Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; onsite five days a week

Salary: $180,000–$230,000 per year, plus potential equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Create test strategies and detailed test plans for frontend applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot-adjacent systems.
• Build and maintain automated API, service, web, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end tests.
• Own release checkout, readiness validation, blocker identification, and go/no-go support.
• Validate kitchen operations software covering orders, menus, recipes, tasks, alerts, and performance visibility.
• Test delivery and commerce integrations, including synchronization, retries, duplicate events, delayed events, and partial failures.
• Improve testability and production reliability through simulation environments, diagnostic tooling, observability, issue triage, and cross-functional incident support.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software quality, test engineering, or related experience, including ownership of complex quality initiatives.
• Deep experience creating and executing test plans for production software and coordinating release validation.
• Strong test automation experience using one or more programming languages.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services, web applications, databases, integrations, and asynchronous or event-driven workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, automated build and deployment pipelines, debugging, investigation, and software reliability improvement.
• Clear communication and the ability to translate operational workflows into practical validation strategies while collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to have

• Browser automation with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools.
• API and service testing with Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, or similar languages.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Protobuf, Terraform, Git, SQL, analytics platforms, or operational dashboards.
• Simulation, mocked services, hardware-in-the-loop testing, robotics, IoT, logistics, manufacturing, or other physical operations experience.
• Observability tools such as Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus, or CloudWatch, plus incident response or on-call experience.
