Senior Metrology Engineer

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; candidates must live within a commutable distance. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.

What you will do

• Perform maintenance, calibration, qualification, troubleshooting, and repair of routine and advanced laboratory instrumentation.
• Keep instruments in a validated state and complete preventive maintenance, routine testing, and validation activities.
• Implement and validate routine instrumentation and support research, implementation, and validation of advanced instruments.
• Maintain compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements, ensuring activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Drive process improvement and collaborate with technical groups to support overall quality.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to technical personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physical science, engineering, or information technology, or equivalent college and technical experience.
• At least 8 years of GxP, laboratory, and/or instrument maintenance and repair experience; 12+ years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience troubleshooting and documenting instruments, non-routine events, and validations.
• Experience writing technical documents, including procedures and investigations.
• Experience developing instrument validation deliverables such as protocols and test scripts in a GxP environment.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ISO 17025 calibration and measurement of uncertainty.
