Procurement Lead

What you will do

• Lead strategic sourcing and category management for mechanical and electrical materials, including pipework, cable, and switchgear.
• Review high-value tender enquiries and provide market pricing and availability data to the Estimating team.
• Negotiate rebate agreements and fixed-price periods to manage copper and steel commodity volatility.
• Manage supplier pre-qualification, audits, performance reviews, and preferred-supplier-list development.
• Coordinate project call-off schedules and just-in-time delivery while managing long-lead equipment and supply-chain risks.
• Review M&E specifications for value-engineered alternatives and report spend, inflation, and supplier performance to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of procurement experience, including 3–5 years in the M&E or construction sectors.
• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a technical engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of M&E components, including LV distribution boards, HVAC plant, BMS, fire, and security trades.
• Proficiency with ERP and e-procurement systems such as COINS, RedSky, or SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for spend analysis and strong commercial understanding of total cost of ownership.
• Firm but fair negotiation style with the ability to work with global manufacturers and local wholesalers.
