Project Director – Engineering & Construction (Renewable Energy)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, with substantial time at the headquarters and regular travel to project sites across the United States. An ideal home location in Virginia or Texas is preferred.

Base salary and bonus are commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Lead multiple utility-scale wind, solar, and BESS projects from pre-construction through commercial operation.
• Provide strategic oversight to project managers and construction management teams across active project sites.
• Coordinate with Development, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Asset Management teams on project handoffs and operational readiness.
• Establish project governance, reporting, performance tracking, budgets, schedules, and risk controls.
• Develop execution strategies covering EPC and multi-contract models, construction sequencing, resource planning, procurement, and logistics.
• Lead commercial negotiations and ensure compliance with permitting, environmental, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of utility-scale energy or infrastructure project execution experience, with a strong focus on renewables.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or large capital projects, typically valued at $200M or more.
• Strong knowledge of EPC and multi-contract delivery models, contract negotiation, commercial management, and risk mitigation.
• Experience with construction execution, interconnection processes, and grid integration within an IPP, developer, or EPC organization.
• Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and communicate effectively with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
