Career Services Advisor (Healthcare)

Location: Campus-based position in Sacramento, California, USA

Salary: USD 26–30 per hour; typical hiring range is between USD 26 and USD 28 per hour.

What you will do

• Provide individualized career coaching to students and graduates, including resume and cover letter development, job-search strategies, interview preparation, and networking guidance.
• Lead workshops, drop-in sessions, classroom presentations, networking events, job fairs, employer presentations, and mock interviews.
• Build relationships with local healthcare employers to develop externship, direct-hire, and long-term workforce opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, clinical teams, and campus stakeholders to improve externship-to-hire and clinical-to-hire conversions.
• Track student engagement, employer outreach, placement activity, caseloads, and employment outcomes using company systems.
• Represent the college in the community and support campus events, graduation ceremonies, and other student-facing activities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of combined experience in career services, staffing, recruiting, workforce development, employer relations, account management, admissions, community outreach, or comparable work.
• At least 2 years of direct experience in coaching, advising, placement, business development, recruitment, or relationship management.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong communication, rapport-building, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage competing priorities and a high-volume caseload.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required; experience with CRM, student information, reporting, or case management systems is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally for employer visits, outreach, and campus events when required.

Nice to have

• Medical Assisting experience.
• Experience in postsecondary education, healthcare, or performance-based service environments.
• Knowledge of healthcare career pathways, employers, and allied health or nursing employment trends.
• Experience with CampusVue, CampusNexus, or Power BI.
