Electrical Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia, USA; work from headquarters required

What you will do

• Manage and coordinate technical issues across renewable energy projects from development through construction completion and ongoing operations support.
• Oversee third-party engineering for substations, transmission lines, and collection systems.
• Plan internal and external resources for technical due diligence and project technical analyses.
• Review technical concepts and engineering designs for compliance with company standards and project strategy.
• Support engineering proposals and procurement activities, including consultant evaluation and selection recommendations.
• Coordinate specialized technical resources and develop regional engineering support partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least three years of related electrical engineering design experience, specifically with substations and renewable energy systems.
• Experience working with consulting engineering firms and supporting engineering analytics and root cause analysis for operating renewable energy assets.
• Ability to lead teams, coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage tight deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, organizational, writing, communication, presentation, and technical specification skills.
• Proficient English communication skills and ability to work from the Charlottesville, Virginia headquarters are required.
