Senior Corporate Counsel, Marketing

Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week, Monday through Thursday

Salary: $150,171.61–$181,034.70 annually

What you will do

• Provide legal counsel on marketing, advertising, communications, and promotional campaigns.
• Review and approve marketing materials for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Develop proactive compliance strategies and perform legal and regulatory risk assessments.
• Lead colleagues conducting initial reviews of marketing and external-facing materials.
• Advise on social media, testimonials, endorsements, sweepstakes, contests, and disclosure requirements.
• Manage escalations, maintain the claims library, and collaborate with business partners and internal teams.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• At least five years of in-house legal experience; seven or more years of law firm and/or in-house experience preferred.
• Experience advising in a regulated environment and expertise in marketing and advertising compliance.
• Experience with FTC regulations, CAN-SPAM, CCPA, COPPA, GDPR, TCPA, endorsement guidelines, and telemarketing sales rules.
• Must be in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
• Strong client management, communication, leadership, problem-solving, judgment, and project management skills.
