Senior Legal Counsel (SaaS)

Location: Remote US; candidates must be located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones, with regular collaboration across teams in North America and Australia.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate U.S. and international commercial technology agreements, including SaaS subscriptions, cloud services, software licenses, SOWs, professional services, partner, reseller, and OEM agreements.
• Advise business units and leadership on software contracting, commercial risk, licensing, regulatory considerations, and SaaS privacy and security requirements.
• Develop and continuously improve contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Product, Security, and Compliance teams.
• Manage external counsel relationships and monitor changes in U.S. and international privacy, technology, and commercial law.
• Participate in internal training, knowledge sharing, and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and a license to practice in at least one U.S. state.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial contracting, ideally in SaaS or a broader technology environment.
• Strong knowledge of software, cloud, data, and commercial contract law.
• Understanding of U.S. data privacy requirements, including CCPA/CPRA and state privacy laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, business judgment, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
