EH&S Specialist (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Boulder, Colorado, United States

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, procedures, and facility initiatives.
• Conduct safety inspections, workplace assessments, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Maintain OSHA records, SDS processes, compliance documentation, regulatory filings, permits, certifications, and the facility compliance calendar.
• Prepare environmental reports covering hazardous waste, air, wastewater, Tier II, and other applicable requirements.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants, regulatory inspections, safety committee activities, PPE and emergency-supply procurement, and corrective action closure.
• Support radiation and laser safety programs, emergency preparedness, drills, and EHS training across all shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• 3–5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, laboratory, or regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment requirements.
• Experience developing and maintaining EHS programs, conducting inspections and audits, investigating incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to walk through the facility, stand for extended periods, lift or move up to 35 pounds occasionally, and wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• ASP, CSP, CHMM, OHST, or another relevant EHS certification.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems and internal auditing.
• Knowledge of Colorado workers’ compensation processes and claims management.
• Experience supporting radiation safety, laser safety, EHS management software, or electronic recordkeeping systems.
