TL;DR

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; onsite

Salary: $53,200–$85,975 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Support routine safety inspections, audits, hazard assessments, job hazard analyses, and risk-reduction planning.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, workers’ compensation claims, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Maintain EHS records, including training logs, safety data sheets, permits, compliance reports, and corrective actions.
  • Support safety training, new associate onboarding, recurring compliance training, and emergency response drills.
  • Monitor PPE use, housekeeping, safety signage, emergency equipment, and facility compliance activities.
  • Support environmental programs covering waste management, recycling, and hazardous materials handling; prepare EHS reports and metrics using Microsoft Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a related position.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and comply with health and safety guidelines.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • EHS experience in an approved Safe Industry program.
  • Experience in manufacturing or around manufacturing processes.
  • Awareness of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP and work environment measurement equipment.
