Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Bray, Dublin, Ireland; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Develop embedded software across the full product lifecycle, from concept generation and technology demonstrators through product launch and in-field maintenance.
• Build solutions for low-power embedded platforms, connected devices, wireless communications, battery-powered systems, and wearable technologies.
• Work with electronics, mechanical engineering, industrial design, and applied science specialists on integrated products.
• Use RTOS environments such as Zephyr OS, embedded Linux, and bare-metal systems on microcontrollers and multi-core SoCs.
• Contribute to hardware bring-up and integration using datasheets, digital electronics, schematics, and collaboration with hardware engineers.
• Explain complex engineering concepts clearly to technical and non-technical clients and colleagues.

Requirements

• Professional experience developing and implementing software for embedded systems using modern engineering workflows.
• Expertise in C, C++, or Rust, together with good experience in Python.
• Practical experience with embedded platforms, RTOS environments, embedded Linux, bare-metal systems, microcontrollers, or multi-core SoCs.
• Experience with test-driven development, automated and manual testing, and software design documentation.
• Knowledge of communications protocols including I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
• Degree in electronic engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline; ability to gain security clearance may be required for some client work.
