Commissioning Manager (BESS)

Location: London, UK. Applicants should be UK based and already have the right to work in the UK. Site attendance is required when needed for installation, commissioning, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.

What you will do

• Support the Senior Commissioning Manager in leading safe, compliant, and economical commissioning for BESS projects.
• Define technical requirements for electrical/BoP, BESS technology provider, and SCADA contractor tenders.
• Review contractor designs, tender submissions, interface boundaries, commissioning plans, inspection and test plans, and operational test procedures.
• Provide technical support during construction, safety reviews, contractor meetings, site installation, and factory acceptance tests.
• Monitor electrical, BESS, SCADA, and ancillary-system commissioning and certify site acceptance tests.
• Review commissioning records and support plant handover while maintaining budget and schedule.

Requirements

• BTEC HNC/HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• 4–6 years of engineering experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Previous commissioning engineering or management experience on HV/LV electrical projects.
• Experience with 11kV, 33kV, or EHV commissioning of switchgear, transformers, protection, control, metering, and SCADA systems.
• Knowledge of EREC G99, BESS capability requirements, compliance testing, and the Grid Code.
• Experience with safe systems of work, permit-to-work processes, LOTO, OT networking, control signals, DNOs, IDNOs, and NGET.
