Electrical Commissioning Manager (Electrical Engineering)

King & Moffatt Building Services provides mechanical and electrical building services from design and installation through ongoing facilities maintenance across construction, industrial, logistics, pharmaceutical, data centre, healthcare, commercial, and energy projects.

What you will do

• Lead commissioning of complex electrical systems and their integration with mechanical, controls, and building systems.
• Develop project-specific commissioning plans, programmes, procedures, method statements, switching schedules, and test scripts.
• Manage activities from pre-commissioning through energisation, integrated systems testing, handover, and project close-out.
• Coordinate project, construction, QA/QC, design, subcontractor, specialist vendor, client, consultant, contractor, utility provider, and manufacturer stakeholders.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of HV, MV, and LV distribution, switchgear, protection systems, transformers, UPS systems, standby generators, lighting, power, earthing, lightning protection, BMS, EPMS, and electrical controls.
• Manage snagging, defect resolution, commissioning records, certification, turnover packages, client training, and operational readiness activities.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems, including HV, MV, and LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, protection systems, BMS, and electrical controls.
• Experience managing electrical commissioning from pre-commissioning through energisation, integrated systems testing, handover, and close-out.
• Ability to lead commissioning teams, coordinate subcontractors and specialist vendors, manage programmes and resources, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Knowledge of EU regulations, IEC/EN standards, local regulations, HSQE requirements, and commissioning documentation practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and commissioning management platforms, with strong technical communication and reporting skills.

Nice to have

• Data centre or mission-critical project experience.
• Authorised Person or Senior Authorised Person qualification.
• Experience with energisation planning and Integrated Systems Testing.
• Membership of a recognised professional institution such as the IET.
