HSE Officer (TAQA Approved)

What you will do

• Implement and monitor project HSE plans, procedures, and safe working practices in line with TAQA requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, toolbox talks, inductions, safety briefings, and awareness programs.
• Review risk assessments, JSA/JHA documents, method statements, and task risk assessments.
• Monitor PTW, LOTO, electrical isolation, HV/LV works, substations, switchgear, cable works, and energized-work controls.
• Oversee high-risk activities including lifting, work at height, excavation, confined space entry, and hot work.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, maintain HSE documentation, support emergency drills, and follow up on corrective actions.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline.
• Valid TAQA HSE Officer approval or HSE Competence Register status is mandatory.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or an equivalent HSE qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in power, utilities, electrical infrastructure, construction, or maintenance projects.
• Practical knowledge of TAQA System Safety Rules, ADOSH-SF requirements, PTW, LOTO, electrical isolation, high-voltage safety, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Experience monitoring contractors and subcontractors on electrical, utility, infrastructure, or maintenance projects.

Nice to have

• IOSH membership or certification.
• NEBOSH Oil & Gas, ISO 45001, First Aid/CPR, Fire Safety, Working at Height, Confined Space, Lifting and Rigging Safety, or Electrical/HV Safety certifications.
• Experience with TAQA Distribution or Transmission projects, power generation, substations, switchyards, commissioning, shutdowns, or electrical utilities infrastructure.
