Accounts Payable Manager (Finance)

Location: Onsite in Vallejo, Mexico City, Mexico. Must be legally able to work in Mexico without restriction.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, onboard, and evaluate the accounts payable team.
• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoices, payment runs, wire transfers, checks, and approval workflows.
• Improve AP efficiency through process optimization, invoice scanning, workflow tools, ERP enhancements, and AI tools.
• Reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger, review aging reports, resolve discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end close.
• Manage vendor relationships, support audits, monitor fraud risks, and enforce internal controls.
• Partner with finance leadership on cash flow planning, forecasting, payment timing, and working capital recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong expertise in accounts payable management, general accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax matters.
• Experience with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Fluent English and Spanish; must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without restriction.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in accounting, business, or administrative economics.
• Experience with an international company and knowledge of business practices in Mexico and the United States.
• Knowledge of QAD, JDE, or LN accounting software.
• Knowledge of Mexican VAT (IVA), withholding taxes (ISR), and local labor regulations.
