Hyperscale Electrical Engineering Director (AI)

What you will do

• Act as the Electrical Systems Technical Representative and senior electrical subject-matter expert across design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
• Lead concept, schematic, and detailed electrical design development, independent design reviews, and reviews of shop drawings and vendor submissions.
• Oversee load flow, short-circuit, discrimination, earthing, and failover studies.
• Deliver feasibility studies, due diligence reports, engineering briefs, capital cost estimates, TCO, and ROI analyses.
• Manage electrical engineering risks involving grid interfaces, redundancy, scalability, and operational resilience.
• Support construction, Level 1–5 commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing, facilities management, outage planning, MOPs, and CABs.

Requirements

• Extensive hyperscale or mission-critical data centre electrical engineering experience from concept through operations.
• Strong technical leadership and engineering assurance capability in 24/7 operational environments.
• Excellent senior-level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices, with strong analytical and risk management skills.
• High Voltage accreditation and Chartered Professional Engineer or RPEQ qualification are desirable.
