TL;DR
Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical (HVAC and Mission Critical Facilities): Supporting the commissioning, testing, validation, and handover of mechanical systems for complex data centre and building services projects across Australia with an accent on critical cooling, hydronic systems, BMS, and system reliability. Focus on factory and site testing, troubleshooting performance issues, documenting readiness, and coordinating with contractors, vendors, consultants, and clients.
Location: Sydney, Australia; site travel required as needed

What you will do
- Support commissioning through construction, testing, validation, and handover phases.
- Participate in factory witness tests, factory acceptance tests, site inspections, and functional performance testing.
- Review commissioning plans, test procedures, technical submissions, and project documentation.
- Assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, system performance verification, and readiness tracking.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, facility operators, and client teams.
- Maintain commissioning data, reports, test scripts, issue registers, and handover documentation.
Requirements
- Degree, diploma, or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Experience in commissioning, construction, facilities engineering, or building services.
- Exposure to HVAC, chilled water, hydronic, fire protection, hydraulic, or critical cooling systems.
- Experience with site-based projects, factory testing, equipment inspections, or building systems testing.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and prioritization skills.
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance are advantageous.
Nice to have
- Experience with data centres, healthcare projects, or other critical environments.
- Exposure to commissioning management processes and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience with CRAC systems, CDUs, direct-to-chip liquid cooling, TAB, smoke control, pressurisation, and BMS.
