Senior Hardware Test Engineer

Location: South Jordan, Utah, USA; in-office Monday through Friday is required. The position is eligible for relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Formulate test strategies and develop test plans for new and existing products based on requirements, engineering specifications, and customer use cases.
• Conduct thermal, humidity, vibration, shock, drop/tumble, HALT/HASS, accelerated aging, and other product qualification tests.
• Analyze test data, troubleshoot failures, monitor performance, document results, and develop new testing methods.
• Lead root-cause analysis using 8D and drive corrective and preventive actions throughout the product lifecycle.
• Validate manufacturing lines, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and recommend product readiness at EVT, DVT, MPQ, and MP gates.
• Develop product risk analyses including DFMEA, PFMEA, NUDD, and lessons learned while collaborating with global cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on technical experience in a related field.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Experience with engineering drawings and the ability to work independently, make sound technical and business judgments, and build cross-functional relationships.
• Proven ability to guide and lead projects, mentor others, and support team execution, including acting as a team lead or interim manager.
• Ability and willingness to work in the South Jordan, Utah office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with assembly processes, thermodynamics, circuit boards, electronics, mechanical parts, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of UL, ASTM, and ISO testing standards, DFMEA/PFMEA, APQP, IPQC, first-article inspections, supplier audits, and quality engineering methods.
• Experience with GR&R, Cp/Cpk, SPC, DOE, correlation analysis, Minitab, FEA, CFD, GD&T, CAD, or infrared thermography.
• ASQ certification and experience in project or people management.
