Company

hirify.global is a Southern California defense contractor that designs and manufactures alternate mission equipment and high-reliability systems for military aerospace and vehicle applications.

What you will do

  • Decompose system requirements into FPGA and microcontroller requirements, including design trade-offs and target-device selection.
  • Define embedded electronics architectures, functional block diagrams, and I/O specifications for Line Replacement Units.
  • Develop FPGA and microcontroller firmware through RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, and programming-file generation.
  • Create FPGA design specifications and hardware/software interface control documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers on functional verification requirements, board bring-up, design verification, and acceptance testing.
  • Support requirements, concept, preliminary and critical design, manufacturing readiness, and test readiness reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering and at least 12 years of relevant experience.
  • End-to-end FPGA and embedded-controller firmware/software development experience for high-reliability flight electronics.
  • Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, C, and C++.
  • Experience with simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, synthesis constraints, and back-annotated gate-level simulation.
  • Experience with 1553B BCRT design and interfaces for solenoids, motor drivers, power switching, analog inputs, and ADC logic; familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, and CAN interfaces.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and eligibility as a U.S. person under ITAR are required. Proof of education and proficiency with Microsoft Office are also required.

Nice to have

  • DoD acquisition, aerospace, military electronics, or airborne weapon-system experience.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B, MIL-STD-1760 message structures, AS9100, and MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience with Microsemi, Altera, STMicroelectronics, Intel, ARM, Cortex M4/M7, or STM32 platforms.
  • Python or another test-framework scripting language and SAP or other ERP experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work across office, manufacturing/assembly, and laboratory test environments.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams while contributing independently with limited oversight.
  • Support systems serving the Department of Defense, global allies, and major aerospace programs.
  • Employment is subject to at-will terms and E-Verify employment-eligibility verification.
