Location: Residential role in Macraes, Otago, New Zealand

What you will do
- Produce engineering designs for the safe and efficient extraction of material, including pit, dump, road, waste rock stack, and rehabilitation designs.
- Design blast masters and drill patterns to optimize mining sequences and fragmentation.
- Develop dewatering strategies and assess design options, costs, and construction set-out plans.
- Create weekly production schedules and monthly forecasts aligned with operational conditions and budget requirements.
- Lead daily planning meetings, coordinate production execution, and monitor schedule variances.
- Advise on haulage routes and assist with pit wall and ground stability monitoring and reporting.
Requirements
- University degree in Mining Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- At least two years of experience in open pit or underground mining.
- Experience using CAD software in a production environment.
- Computer literacy, including experience with mine planning software; MineSight or MinePlan experience is advantageous.
- Full and current driver licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
- A valid New Zealand working visa is required. A B-Grade Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency, or the ability to obtain one, is preferred.
