CAD Data Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Auckland, New Zealand. Start date: November 2026. New Zealand office applicants must be eligible to access equipment and data regulated by U.S. ITAR requirements.

What you will do

• Support the migration of engineering CAD data from EPDM to Siemens Teamcenter.
• Identify missing legacy data, prepare exports for translation with the ELYSIUM CAD Translator, and manage translated CAD files and import reports.
• Develop and test scripts to populate or correct metadata and streamline migration workflows.
• Help reduce duplication of commercial off-the-shelf parts.
• Document processes, scripts, mapping files, and data locations.
• Validate data accuracy and support migration activities across the Electron and Neutron programs.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering or related technical degree in mechanical, aerospace, aeronautical, astronautical, mechatronics, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with SQL, scripting such as Python or PowerShell, and data transformation tools.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, self-management, and ownership of assigned tasks.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Interest in CAD systems, PLM tools, and engineering data management.
• New Zealand office applicants may be ineligible if they do not meet the stated ITAR nationality and eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, EPDM, Siemens Teamcenter, CAD/CAM, or PLM concepts.
• Python automation, database management, query optimization, or data migration experience.
• Knowledge of engineering change management and version control with Git.
• Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
