Data Centre Technician

What you will do

• Operate and maintain critical electrical, mechanical, power, cooling, and customer infrastructure systems.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks across health and safety, security, and critical facility operations.
• Monitor and diagnose system performance through BMS and related platforms to minimise resolution time.
• Support data hall monitoring for temperature, humidity, alarms, and power, while improving operational reliability.
• Manage customer infrastructure installations, equipment handling, deliveries, and assembly as required.
• Participate in a rotating on-call roster, produce operational reports, and support team development.

Requirements

• Australian citizenship is required to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar data centre or colocation role supporting approximately 2.5MW or more of critical IT load in a Tier III or equivalent facility.
• Recognised electrical or relevant trade qualification and hands-on experience; transferable skills from related trades are also considered.
• Working knowledge of data centre operations, including rack management, IT installations, cooling, and power systems.
• Strong customer service, communication, planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of ITIL principles and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Nice to have

• Exposure to BMS and other service platforms.
• Relevant electrical, mechanical, or related trade qualifications.
• Experience with high-density power and advanced cooling technologies.
