TL;DR
Technical Advisor (Solar Energy): Coordinating project managers, customers, and field teams during the construction and installation of photovoltaic tracking systems with an accent on onsite technical support, construction safety, and quality assurance. Focus on inspecting tracker construction, resolving product issues, coordinating commissioning, and supporting customers across remote Australian project sites.

Location: Manly, New South Wales, Australia; up to 100% field-based with extensive travel to remote Australian project sites and extended periods away from home

What you will do

  • Coordinate between project managers, customers, construction managers, supervisors, quality teams, and subcontractors.
  • Provide technical and customer support for photovoltaic tracking products and field services across Australia.
  • Interpret construction plans, manuals, technical bulletins, product notifications, and other installation documentation.
  • Track construction progress, material deliveries, installation issues, tool issues, safety meetings, and daily site activities.
  • Conduct quality inspections of piling and tracker construction, document deviations, and support corrective actions.
  • Assess commissioning readiness, coordinate commissioning activities, and advise customers on tool operation, maintenance, and servicing.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of construction industry experience, including at least 2 years at supervisory level.
  • Understanding of Australian WHS regulations and construction-site safety; a construction induction white card is required.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR training; training will be provided if needed and is mandatory.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in heavy construction, plus proficiency with construction tools and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, teamwork, and independent-working skills.
  • Willingness to complete health and drug/alcohol screening and travel extensively to project sites.

Nice to have

  • Passion for solar or renewable energy.
  • Strong knowledge of PV technology and its applications.
  • Hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems.
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
