High School Social Worker

Location: New York, NY, USA; school-based role with on-site school duties, events, supervision, field trips, and staff training.

Compensation: $78,000–$115,000 per year. Most qualified candidates receive offers between $78,000 and $84,700.

What you will do

• Provide crisis intervention, behavior management, individual counseling, and group counseling to high school students and the wider school community.
• Develop and deliver social-emotional development and intervention curricula.
• Serve as a case manager and member of the Child Study Team, maintaining records and required documentation.
• Refer, monitor, and evaluate students and families receiving external resources and services.
• Plan school-based interventions with educators and strengthen parent, family, school, and community partnerships.
• Support school-wide activities, staff collaboration, professional development, family events, and the orderly operation of the school.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work with LMSW licensure or LCSW licensure.
• Valid School Social Worker Certification from the NYDOE.
• Drive to improve students’ academic, behavioral, and personal outcomes.
• Proven track record of high achievement, self-motivation, and teamwork.
• Alignment with Uncommon’s core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable.
• Experience working in urban schools is highly preferred.
