What you will do

• Manage a caseload of Job Corps participants and provide academic, social, personal, and career development counseling.
• Assess student needs, document counseling sessions, update records, and track projection data weekly.
• Help students set short- and long-term goals, develop employability plans, continue education, and pursue additional training.
• Connect students with community services and coordinate referrals to mental health consultants, review boards, and other support resources.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate orientations, employability and social skills sessions, and Career Management Team decisions.
• Support center operations by managing leaves and passes, participating in weekend Counselor on Duty rotations, and maintaining a safe, respectful environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in social services-related instruction.
• At least one year of experience in counseling or a related field.
• Experience working with a diverse population of youth.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco in a full-time role, including rotational weekend duty.
