Superintendent — Mechanical Mining Construction

Location: Haile (US-Haile) Operations, South Carolina, United States. On-site work in a surface mine plant environment with 12-hour shift work required.

What you will do

• Manage and oversee mechanical construction for the leach plant circuit expansion, paste plant, surface facilities, and underground projects.
• Plan construction methods, schedules, labor, materials, equipment needs, and cost-control activities.
• Manage construction contractors, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and technical information flow.
• Coordinate mechanical work with civil and electrical activities, process equipment deliveries, and start-up operations.
• Inspect work quality, resolve construction issues, support change orders and project closeout, and assist with transition to operations.
• Promote safety and environmental responsibility, conduct inspections and audits, and manage project risks.

Requirements

• 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a senior construction role.
• Knowledge and experience with surface facilities in a hard-rock mining operation.
• Trade qualification or degree in engineering or a related discipline, such as mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience with both start-up projects and operating environments, including contractor and dispute management.
• MSHA 40-hour training or previous MSHA training.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, prioritization, troubleshooting, and relationship-management skills.
