Military and Family Life Counselor - Adults or Children (Behavioral Health): Providing non-medical, short-term counseling, behavioral health consultation, and wellness training for military service members and their families at military installations and local schools with an accent on brief intervention, referrals, and military-community engagement. Focus on responding to critical incidents, managing duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations, and delivering services within Department of Defense protocols.
Location: Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, United States; onsite work at Camp Lejeune, MCAS New River, Camp Geiger, or local schools. Candidates must be local or willing to become local.

What you will do
- Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling, assessment, consultation, action planning, referrals, and follow-up.
- Deliver health and wellness presentations, trainings, health-fair activities, and other installation events.
- Maintain a visible presence within assigned military units and build working relationships with installation points of contact and community resources.
- Respond to critical incidents, surge and on-demand events, and urgent requests, including schedule flexibility when required.
- Manage duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations according to Department of Defense protocols.
- Document counselor activity, participate in supervision and quality-improvement activities, and support pilot programs and related contract initiatives.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in behavioral health or a related field such as social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or counseling.
- Current unrestricted independent counseling license required, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or LCMHC.
- Less than two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- US citizenship and fluent English required.
- Must pass NACI, Installation Records Check, criminal background, and FBI fingerprint checks.
- Valid US state driver’s license required; a military vehicle operator’s permit may also be required for TDY assignments.
