TL;DR
Special Operations Licensed Mental Health Counselor (On-Site) (AFSOC GSU/Southern Pines, NC) (Behavioral Health): Providing clinical counseling, behavioral assessments, evidence-based therapies, and case management for Special Operations personnel, families, and authorized beneficiaries with an accent on individual, family, group, and couples interventions. Focus on evaluating and treating psychological and neuropsychological disorders, developing family and unit connectedness programs, and coordinating behavioral health services across DoD and partner agencies.

Location: On-site in Fayetteville, North Carolina; additional locations include Southern Pines, NC, Hurlburt/Duke Field, FL, and Cannon AFB, NM.

What you will do

  • Conduct behavioral health screenings, clinical counseling, case management, and prevention programming.
  • Serve active-duty Special Operations personnel, retired military members, families, and other DoD-authorized beneficiaries.
  • Provide behavioral assessments, interviews, diagnosis, treatment, and evidence-based therapies.
  • Deliver individual, family, group, and couples psychotherapy, including alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
  • Develop programs that support healthy family relationships and unit connectedness.
  • Coordinate behavioral health services and maintain working relationships with the unit, POTFF, DoD, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral science or a qualifying mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or allied mental health field.
  • Current U.S. state, territory, or district license for independent practice as an LMFT or LPC is required.
  • LMFT candidates must meet applicable COAMFTE/AAMFT education and clinical membership requirements.
  • LPC candidates must meet NCMHCE, accredited graduate education, post-master’s practice, and independent licensure requirements, including two years of post-graduate experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required for credentialing at servicing medical treatment facilities.
