What you will do

  • Manage construction and maintenance activities to meet safety, schedule, budget, quality, scope, and technical baselines.
  • Lead construction teams, balance resources, and coordinate with Operations, Project Management, Design, Design Authority, the Department of Energy, and other organizations.
  • Present construction status and complex technical, organizational, and financial issues to internal and external customers.
  • Analyze construction problems and project performance, develop alternative strategies, and establish corrective actions and priorities.
  • Optimize construction input from conceptual design through construction, turnover, and project completion.
  • Manage project staff and matrix personnel, including performance accountability, motivation, career development, and reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 13–15 years of practical construction experience, or an equivalent associate's degree with 15–17 years or high school diploma with 17–19 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction, cost and scheduling, subcontract administration, and construction strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of project management, tactical project planning, operations, maintenance, project start-up, construction management, and construction subcontracts.
  • Working knowledge of national codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience planning and executing work in radiological and nuclear environments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of vehicle insurance are also required.

  • Scheduled work is 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., using a four-day, 10-hour schedule.
