Design Engineer (Nuclear)

What you will do

• Review specifications and verify proposed designs for compliance.
• Create 3D models, 2D layouts, assembly drawings, and detail drawings for new and improved products.
• Perform clearance, stack-up, tolerance, structural, thermal, flow, and other design analyses.
• Select materials and hardware, and prepare and review design reports.
• Standardize design methods and analysis techniques.
• Lead internally and externally funded design and development programs while coordinating with manufacturing, welding, and quality control.

Requirements

• At least two years of 2D and 3D CAD experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
• Knowledge of valve design and drafting practices, product requirements, and applicable industry codes, including ASME B&PV, Y14.5, B16.5, B16.34, B18.3, and B31.1.
• Working knowledge of finite element analysis and design analysis techniques.
• Experience with tools such as Microsoft Office, Mathcad, LabVIEW, NX, Teamcenter, and ANSYS.
• Must be a US citizen with a Government Security Clearance.
