TL;DR
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager (Energy Infrastructure): Providing independent engineering advisory support for large-scale U.S. energy infrastructure projects, including technical due diligence, construction monitoring, operations monitoring, and HSE governance with an accent on safety performance, environmental controls, and field execution risk. Focus on reviewing project evidence, identifying mitigations, preparing lender-ready HSE and risk documentation, and supporting DOE financing and lifecycle-monitoring decisions.

Location: Remote within the United States, with expected on-site meetings and work at project sites nationwide. Initial work site: Washington, DC.

What you will do

  • Provide HSE oversight across technical due diligence, construction monitoring, and operations monitoring for large-scale energy infrastructure projects.
  • Review project documentation, data rooms, technical and commercial interfaces, HSE management systems, safety performance, and environmental controls.
  • Identify risks and mitigations, validate assumptions, and support conditions precedent, disbursement readiness, and draw package reviews.
  • Prepare defensible HSE plans, incident metrics, audit findings, hazard controls, contractor safety reviews, and Independent Engineer reports.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders.
  • Support DOE and lender decisions throughout technical due diligence, credit evaluation, construction monitoring, certification, and lifecycle oversight.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience.
  • Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, business, risk management, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with independent engineering review, technical due diligence, risk assessment, HSE systems, environmental controls, field execution risk, and data room review.
  • Strong report writing, Excel-based analysis, stakeholder coordination, technical judgment, analytical rigor, and defensible documentation skills.
  • Must be able to work remotely from within the United States and attend on-site meetings or project-site activities as required.

Nice to have

  • Certifications such as PMP, CQA, CIA, ISO Lead Auditor, CHMM, CSP, or PMI-RMP.
  • Experience supporting DOE or Loan Programs Office-style documentation and financing governance.
