Executive Director Medical Economics

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid with in-office hours 3 days per week

Base pay: $161,500–$299,700 annually, plus eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the enterprise-wide strategy and development of the Medical Economics Engine.
• Define business requirements and functional strategy for the Medical Economics Engine, coordinating with data and IT delivery teams.
• Oversee feature prioritization, testing, deployment, change management, reporting, analytics, and user adoption.
• Analyze healthcare cost drivers, emerging trends, and outlier behaviors to support value improvement and medical cost containment.
• Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams including Healthcare Management, Network, Payment Integrity, and PMO.
• Direct, coach, and develop employees while building capabilities in program strategy and AI-enabled insights.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, actuarial science, healthcare economics, or a related field.
• 12 years of experience in healthcare analytics, medical economics, or financial modeling analysis; 10 years accepted with an advanced degree.
• 7 years of leadership experience, including leading internal subject matter experts and external strategic advisors.
• Ability to collaborate with executive and cross-functional stakeholders on healthcare cost and value improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work from the Chicago office 3 days per week in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Actuarial certification such as FSA.
• MBA, Master of Finance, Master of Medical Economics, or a similar advanced degree.
• SQL or equivalent querying tools experience.
• Analytics leadership experience with a health insurance payer or healthcare provider.
