Research Associate, Healthcare

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid schedule with work from the office four days a week and remote flexibility one day a week.

Base salary: USD 90,000–180,000 annually, plus potential bonus, incentives, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support a senior Global Industry Analyst in covering global MedTech, Tools, and Diagnostics companies, primarily in the US.
• Maintain industry, comparative valuation, and company financial models.
• Build product-level forecasts covering procedure volumes, pricing, reimbursement, margins, and adoption curves.
• Assess clinical, commercial, regulatory, reimbursement, competitive, and market-adoption factors affecting medical technologies.
• Conduct due diligence, analyze alternative data and AI-enabled research tools, and identify investment opportunities and risks.
• Contribute to long and short investment ideas and communicate research findings across the healthcare team.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant investment experience.
• Prior healthcare or MedTech, Tools, or Diagnostics equity research experience, ideally in a buy-side or sell-side research associate role.
• Financial modeling and valuation experience for healthcare companies.
• Ability to analyze clinical, financial, regulatory, reimbursement, utilization, and industry datasets.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
• An undergraduate degree is required; scientific, engineering, biomedical engineering, healthcare, or related technical backgrounds are advantageous.

Nice to have

• Understanding of long/short investing concepts and risk management.
• Experience using AI and data tools to screen, rank, and analyze large stock universes.
• Progress toward CFA or CAIA qualifications.
