Quality Engineering Technician I - Electrode, Days C-Shift (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Sparks, Nevada, United States; valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction is required.

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage in collaboration with Tesla.

What you will do

• Conduct and implement quality control systems for lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes.
• Perform incoming-materials quality control and inspections in the cell-production warehouse.
• Inspect cell parts, active battery materials, and chemical materials for battery safety and performance.
• Analyze and evaluate materials input/output data to reduce defects and improve battery performance.
• Support materials audits of cell manufacturing processes to assure production quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with quality management tools such as control charts, FTA, and FMEA, plus Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Practical experience with materials analysis, testing, and chemical analysis equipment.
• Experience auditing an ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Experience with statistical process control, production-data analysis, and defect reduction in high-volume manufacturing.
• Valid U.S. work authorization without restriction is required; pre-employment drug testing is required.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of experience as a quality technician.
• Associate’s or junior college degree in science or engineering.
• Quality technician experience in high-volume manufacturing.
