Quality Supervisor (EV & Energy Storage)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States. The position is primarily site-based with no regular travel requirements. Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction.

Panasonic Energy produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and sustainable energy applications and is expanding a large-scale battery manufacturing facility in Kansas.

What you will do

• Lead daily in-process and final product quality inspections across production lines.
• Supervise quality technicians, inspectors, and team leads, including work planning, training, performance management, and corrective action.
• Maintain the Quality Management System, document control, CAPA processes, and audit readiness.
• Analyze quality metrics and trends, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance to resolve non-conformities and improve manufacturing processes.
• Communicate quality objectives and performance results to leadership and frontline teams while supporting customer and regulatory audits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in quality assurance or quality control in manufacturing or distribution.
• Experience leading, training, and developing quality inspectors and technicians.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 and regulatory standards including UL, CE, and RoHS.
• Knowledge of production processes, manufacturing operations, analytical problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.
• Working-level English proficiency is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Five or more years of supervisory experience in high-volume or regulated manufacturing.
• Quality certifications such as ASQ CQE/CQA, Six Sigma Green Belt, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, or Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience in battery manufacturing, automotive, electronics, or clean energy.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, QMS platforms, MES, ERP, Excel, Power BI, or Minitab.
