Senior Associate Scientist (Immunology)

What you will do

• Design and execute immunology experiments for novel and early-stage vaccine candidates according to study protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Develop and perform cell-based microneutralization, ligand binding, hemagglutination inhibition, and multiplex assays using Luminex and MSD platforms.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, coordinate in vivo studies, prepare animal-study formulations, and manage required Benchling registrations.
• Support automation of serological assays, including ELISA and microneutralization, using Hamilton liquid-handler platforms or similar systems.
• Analyze, document, and present experimental data; contribute to protocols, assay reports, SOPs, abstracts, and manuscripts.
• Maintain sample inventories and laboratory equipment, identify issues and delays, and support laboratory operations and technical mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in immunology, microbiology, biology, or a related scientific discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree holders need 3+ years of laboratory or related experience; master’s degree holders need 1+ year. Academic and research experience is considered.
• Experience with immunological assays for viral pathogens, including microneutralization, ELISA, and multiplex assays.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and the analysis and visualization of experimental data.
• Ability to manage multiple activities, solve complex experimental problems, communicate clearly, and collaborate with project teams.
• Work is based onsite in Waltham, Massachusetts, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with semi-automated microneutralization assays and Hamilton liquid-handler platforms.
• Experience with COVID-related assays or projects.
• Hands-on experience with Benchling, sample inventory management, animal-study coordination, Prism, SoftMaxPro, or Cytation multimode readers.
