Risk Management Specialist (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: Remote within the USA, with on-site meetings and project-site work expected nationwide; initial work site in Washington, DC.

What you will do

• Provide independent engineering advisory support for DOE Energy Dominance Financing technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities.
• Review project documentation and data rooms, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, and identify project risks and mitigation strategies.
• Assess technical, construction, schedule, cost, operational, compliance, and loan-performance risks across energy infrastructure projects.
• Prepare risk registers, issue logs, mitigation evidence, recurring risk reports, and independent engineer reports suitable for lender and DOE review.
• Support conditions precedent validation, disbursement readiness reviews, draw package checks, completion certification, and issue closure tracking.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project-controls stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory services.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, business, risk management, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
• Knowledge of technical due diligence, risk assessment, DOE/LPO-style documentation, information request tracking, report writing, and Excel-based analysis.
• Demonstrated technical judgment, independence, analytical rigor, attention to detail, defensible documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Must be based in the United States and able to attend on-site meetings or visit project sites nationwide.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as PMP, CQA, CIA, ISO Lead Auditor, CHMM, CSP, or PMI-RMP.
• Experience with energy infrastructure financing, EPC oversight, construction monitoring, or project finance.
