Economic Assessment Specialist (Project Finance & Credit Evaluation Support)

Location: Remote within the United States with on-site meetings and project-site work expected; Washington, DC / nationwide CONUS support.

What you will do

• Provide independent engineering advisory support for DOE Energy Dominance Financing and Loan Programs Office activities.
• Assess project economics, feasibility assumptions, sensitivity cases, cost-benefit drivers, market inputs, and debt-service risk.
• Review project documentation and data rooms, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, and validate assumptions.
• Prepare economic models, scenario analyses, cost curves, benefit assumptions, economic summaries, and lender-ready reports.
• Support technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, conditions precedent, disbursement readiness, and issue closure activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, business, infrastructure finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory.
• Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
• Experience with independent engineering review, technical due diligence, project economics, risk assessment, financial viability analysis, and report writing.
• Strong Excel-based analysis, documentation, stakeholder coordination, analytical rigor, and technical judgment.
• Ability to work remotely within the United States and attend on-site meetings or project-site activities nationwide.

Nice to have

• MBA, CFA, PMP, CPA, or project finance credentials.
• Experience supporting DOE or Loan Programs Office-style documentation and financing decisions.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and data analytics tools.
